I thank you for a fantastic and mind-blowing experience!
I just got back to San Francisco after completing the PFI breath hold surf survival course. I was completely blown away by the experience. I’ve taken dozens of training courses during my 39 years of life (many of which occurred during my military enlistment) and this was undoubtedly the most challenging, the most rewarding, and the most mind-altering course of my life.
My “Personal Bests” before starting the course were 1:45 for static apnea and 10m for depth. By the end of the course, I reached 4:40 for static apnea and 20m for depth, absolutely blowing away my expectations for what I would be able to achieve through the course.
Chris and John are absolutely superb instructors. They work well and complement each other perfectly. Chris’ intense passion for freediving and for training others is obvious and he has a knack for setting high expectations and for guiding students to go much further than we could possibly imagine. John is more gentle but just as effective. His philosophical suggestions are almost hypnotic as he coaxes his students’ minds to envision and accomplish what we had previously designated as “impossible.” He is also very good at guiding students through “sticking points” or “hurdles” when they are having trouble moving forward.
Rest assured that I will be recommending this course to people in Northern California, including my fellow big wave surfers at Mavericks and Ocean Beach. Please feel free to use any or all of this email as a testimonial for your course.
One final request: would you please send me the contact information for John and Chris? They told the class that it would be fine to contact them directly but I forgot to write down their information!
I thank you, Chris, John, and PFI in general very much for a fantastic and mind-blowing experience and, more importantly, for helping me to take a huge step forward to becoming a complete waterman and achieving my big wave dreams!
