Well the last official training day has come and gone.  The rumor mill is going crazy here with everyone trying to find out what others are doing without actually asking them.  We will share some of the latest gossip later on in this update.

Room for Five Training Boat

A lot has happened since our last update.  One thing, I arrived.  Unlike some of the weather that Kirk, Martin, Doc, and Juliana had, the weather has been beautiful!  Sometimes too hot.  Our training boat has gotten quite full as well.  We have been joined by Jade, Matt, Ananda, Mario, Will, Michael and sometimes camera people.  One big happy family.  From what we have heard, we are lucky to have been able to train like this as official training has had it's issues.

Since arriving here last Sat night I have gotten in 4 training dives.  The first day was a total wash for me as I was under weighted.  But I got it fixed and the next two days of training put me over 75m!  Although today's dive was one of my deeper ones, I had to turn early as my left ear just wouldn't clear for me.  S!#* happens.  Martin has been progressing really well too.  His big adventure of this trip so far was having his mask fall off his face on the way up from a 100m+ dive!  Don't worry, he was alright.  A couple days ago Doc hit a new PB in free immersion with a very easy looking dive to 44m!  Juliana has been breaking static records on her constant weight dives.  Due to equalizing problems some of her dives have been over a minute longer then normal!  Man that girl has lungs.  Even Kirk has seen some diving action when he was able to pull off an easy 60m dive without any warm-ups!  Martin is worried about the day Kirk decides to compete :-)

I won't go into details on the rest of the boat but I can let you in on some of the rumors going on.  The UK team is overcoming the warm waters problems (funny problem I know) but are happy that they were able to find a gallon of Rose wine for 5 Euro.  They may return home naked though as their clothing has been stuck in the washing machines for almost 2 days now.  Kaz, from Japan (better know as Kirk's Sumo wrestling buddy from last years Worlds after party) has really long hair now which means that his dives have been going well.  Both Kirk and Kaz have been hounded by people to put on another Sumo show but so far both are declining.  We think that will change once they start in on the tequila on Sunday night.  Michael "Disco Lives On" Antinori, from the USA, although hasn't broken any world records has certainly broke most fashion trends on the runways of Paris and Milan :>)

Another update once the competition starts.

Sincerely,
Mandy-Rae with Kirk, Martin & Doc Performance Freediving Team

Freediving or breath-hold diving is a type of advanced snorkeling and water adventure that allows us to experience the sights, sounds and challenges of the most natural of underwater experiences.

Human evolution and development has ingrained us with an underwater potential the same as our marine cousins, whales, seals and dolphins.

Without the use of underwater breathing apparatus, freedivers on a single breath of air can explore the underwater realm for minutes at a time with relative comfort.

Freediving is about the comfort and exploration of the ocean realm for recreation, spearfishing, competition or personal discovery.

For over 7 years, Performance Freediving has helped enthusiastic men, women and youth to explore the underwater world with expert training, support and products from the world's top freedivers.

PFI is North America's longest running Freediving training agency having taught over 2300 students to dive deeper, longer, and safer. Let us show you how!
